Topstitch Making Waves Exhibition

 

Out of the Fold member Frances Overy is also a member of Topstitch.

Topstitch will be exhibiting at Wymondham Arts Centre, NR18 0PH from 3rd - 8th September 2024 on the theme of 'Making Waves'

Another member of Out of the Fold Mary McIntosh is the invited guest exhibitor taking part in the Topstitch exhibition. Mary says

"I was delighted to be asked by Frances to take part. Wymondham Arts Centre is a fantastic venue and having the opportunity to show some of my work in Norfolk will be lovely. I look forward to working with Topstitch"

Mary making Connections

 

Out of the Fold member Mary McIntosh will be exhibiting as part of the Textile Connections group at burystedmundsguildhall from 2nd - 7th July 2024. 10am - 4pm each day. FREE entry.

Textile Connections have seven members, most of whom completed the Creative Stitch Advanced Stitched Textiles course in 2021. They were joined by their tutor Mary to help guide them to this first major exhibition of new work. 

Mary plans to step down from Textile Connections following the exhibition.

Phillip and his goldwork lizard

 

Phillip Rees has spent many, many hours working to create 'Harry' his goldwork lizard following a workshop with Georgina Bellamy also known as thatembroiderygirl

Harry is about 6 inches long

The workshop was arranged by STARS as part of their programme of talks and workshops. Several Out of the Fold members belong to this active group who meet in the same hall at Fornham All Saints on the first Thursday evening of each month.

Goodbye Lynette

 

Lynette Domoney has moved away from the area and has relinquished her membership of Out of the Fold after 15 years.

We wish Lynette all the very best for the future.

As a farewell gift and a reminder of the happy times spent in Out of the Fold members all made a postcard on the theme of 'Suffolk'

Daphne Impey

 

Out of the Fold are sad to announce the death of former member Daphne Impey.

Daphne died peacefully at home on 13th May 2024

Daphne was a founding member of the group and left only in February this year after exhibiting at Textiles East. A very kind and generous lady, always modest about her talents. We miss her and send our condolences to her husband David, daughter Paula, and all the family.

Daphne's funeral will be held at 10am on 13th June 2024 at Dry Drayton Church.
