Sarah has enjoyed creating and making from an early age, from sewing soft toys to making Christmas cards. This was accompanied by a love of colour. For many years her sewing and making remained a hobby but she continually had an urge to explore new techniques. Sarah taught herself felting, crochet, applique and some hand embroidery among other things.
After her children were at school, Sarah wanted to extend her textile skills and learn machine embroidery and design. In 2015, she began a City & Guilds certificate course in Machine Embroidery where she met some wonderful friends and discovered a love for designing and stitching her own textile art.
Sarah went on to complete the Advanced Stitched Textiles course with Creative Stitch, Ipswich, Suffolk finishing in July 2019. During the course she enjoyed developing her love of colour, shape, felting and densely stitched pieces and won one of the student awards.

Sarah finds inspiration from the world around her. This can include nature, architecture, thoughts and ideas, everyday objects around the home, to name a few. A common thread they all have is some connection with her, a story to tell or message to communicate.
