Frances Overy is a contemporary textile artist
working from her home and studio situated in
the depths of the South Norfolk countryside.
She combines handstitching, particularly enjoying
working with metal threads, with machine embroidery
and mixed media using traditional techniques in
a modern innovative manner.
Inspiration comes from surroundings at home and
away, historical artefacts, visits to museums
and galleries, scientific discoveries and
adventures.

Frances is also a member of TOPstitch, Threadheads,
STARS and the Norfolk Contemporary Art Society.
She studied Textiles with the Open College of the
Arts and was awarded C&G Level 2 Embroidery.
Frances exhibits independently, with TOPstitch and Threadheads and has participated in Norfolk Open Studios.
