Out of the Fold at the Big 24 Show

 

Out of the Fold exhibited their collection of handmade fans at the Big 24 Show held at Blackthorpe Barns, Suffolk. Ten fans were on display.

The fans were made for the 'Unfolding' exhibition in 2023 and inspired by a visit to see the fan collection at the Fitzwilliam museum in Cambridge

Phillip Rees exhibited at the Big 24 Show as part of CQ Iceni who had all made small quilts inspired by triangles.

Here is the whole CQ display which includes pieces by former Out of the Fold members Lynne Pretty and Karen Frost. 

This display was very professionally displayed by Lynne with her customary attention to detail

Sampler quilt by Phillip Rees

Phillip also had his sampler quilt in the show, made several years ago at the Cosy Cabin with tutor Jackie Ives

Mary McIntosh contributed the far left strip of this quilt made by the Spotlight Textiles group exhibited at the Big 24 Show. 

This piece was inspired by an image of Framlingham Castle as is part of the 'Spotlight on......Architecture' series being developed for exhibition
